The title of the best Sauvignon Blanc in the show and a further 79 medals were awarded to Moravian winemakers at the largest and most prominent international wine exhibition in the USA, the International Wine Competition, which was held in San Francisco. The participation of our wines took place with the financial support of the Wine Fund of the Czech Republic and with the organisational assistance of the National Wine Centre.

This year it is already for the sixth time when Moravian and Bohemian wine-makers will introduce their production in the international wine trade fair ProWein. The world famous wine and spirit exhibition will be held in German Düsseldorf on March 27 – 29, 2011. The official exhibition of the Czech Republic will be the biggest in the history.

35 wines from Moravia and Bohemia have found their way into the prestigious French publication 1000 Vins du Monde (1000 Wines of the World) for 2011. In the publication 1000 Vins du Monde, wine lovers can find the world’s most amazing wine treasures in the same way that gastronomy fans around the world seek inspiration in the famed Michelin Guide.

This year for the first time Moravian and Bohemian wines will be presented together on the National stand of the wines from the Czech Republic at the prestigious London International Wine Fair in Great Britain on May 12 – 14. The LIWF is one of the most important world wine fairs.

Moravian wine-makers gained 140 medals
One of the most popular wine competitions in the world – the Austrian AWC Vienna – published this year’s results at the Gala Evening of Wine at the Viennese City Hall. 7959 wines from 1422 producers from all around the world took part in the competition. The Czech Republic was represented by the all-time high 159 samples, which is the highest number in the history of our participations in foreign competitions so far. The wine-makers from the Czech Republic reached a tremendous success – one of the medals or diplomas “seal of approval” were given to record 140 wines, that is unbelievable 88 %.
